Kaspersky Safe Kids – parental control on your child’s phone, tablet and computer. Not a surveillance tool but a way to agree on rules: you see how much time is spent on screens and which websites are visited, while your child sees the rules and can ask for more time.
Main features
- Content filter – adult and other inappropriate websites are blocked; you can create your own lists of allowed and blocked addresses.
- YouTube Safe Search and a report on the topics of videos watched.
- Screen time management – a daily limit and schedule (for example, not during lessons and not after 10 p.m.).
- Application control – you can block specific apps or games from being opened.
- Location on a map and an alert when the phone battery is running low.
- Parent app on your phone – you approve or reject requests for more time or to unblock a website from your own phone.
- Reports on the use of apps, websites and YouTube.
Where it works
Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. Filtering works on home Wi-Fi, on the school network and on mobile data – not just on your home router.
A tip from experience
It works best when rules are discussed with the child rather than switched on in secret. Teenagers have their own window showing the rules in force – this is far easier to accept than silent blocking.
